These guys came from my front yard. End of the season bloom spurt. Fresh flowers are so great in the kitchen.
The Mr and I are in love with a greasy spoon Mexican restaurant around the corner from us. Best take out ever: 2 orders of Tacos de Carne Asada and 2 sides of guac. My version of heaven in a plastic take-out bag.
Mom, I know you're sweatin it out in Houston, but my screen door is open tonight. In February you'll pay me back when I'm buried in a mound of snow and you're at the pool.
Last weekend I made Buffalo Chicken Rolls that I found on Pinterest. Awesome / Amazing. Total man / comfort food and a great new appetizer for football season.
Getting on Pinterest in the evening is extremely deadly to your diet. All those recipes and I'm reaching for the box of Spicy Cheese-Its.
I finally decided on some chairs for my space between my kitchen and dining room tables. Massive thing checked off my House To-Do List. Now I just have to wait till December for them to come in. Waiting for furniture to come in is the hardest thing for me to do.
This was my basement bar on Monday:
This little project makes me feel so proud and HGTVish because the bottom cabinets are from our second kitchen that we took out in the spring. Repurposing what you have is the way to go.
The cabinets are going to be kick-ass. We're having them painted a gray several shades darker than our walls and then distressed. Yum. Yum. Stone like tile and tin will round everything out. We were going for the Texas Hill Country / modern country / nicest way to put a bar in your house look. I also had a BIG wine rack put in. I have plenty to fill her up.
But do you know what I'm MOST excited about? A place to store all the Mr's koozies. I swear. We could out-fit our neighborhood.
Has anyone started Christmas shopping yet? I saw some survey on the new or Today show about when people start. I'm a "begin at the end of October" girl. I enjoy being out in the hustle and bustle.
