And it's time for Thanksgiving!
I swear, it seems like we just HAD Thanksgiving and here we are again. The Mr and I are staying in town again this year for Turkey Day, and my MIL is flying in this afternoon to spend the holiday with us.
Turkey Day is a low-key event for us, which I am A-OK with. Since the Mr and I have pretty big families and extended families, Christmas is a marathon-3 day event: between the two of us, we have 5 Christmas' to go to. So I am thankful, thankful for the relaxing, staying in one house holiday, that Thanksgiving is.
This morning was a no-work day for me. Yah! So I prepped about half of the food, spruced up the house, ran to Target, picked up yeast that I forgot at the grocery, and am working on the laundry.
Lets talk about the food:
Turkey-Mr fries it. Yum. Yum.
Rolls: homemade, dough rising in the fridge as I type. I'll post the recipe soon.
Stuffing: My mom's recipe. It's so simple, but amazing.
We have a couple of new things this year, which I'm excited about. I think it's nice to change up the menu-year to year.
And speaking of new things, my chairs showed up...a whopping 3 weeks early!
Yes, if you spot snow-flake pillows on them, you are correct. I broke my cardinal rule of not decorating before Xmas this year. I decided to take the plunge, bc I didn't want to mess with the decorations when my MIL was in town. I still haven't put up tress yet....saving the best for last!
