I LOVE opening up my house, getting food and drinks together and hanging out with friends. It's one of my favorite things to do. So when I got the wild hair a couple of months ago to have a Christmas party, I fanned the flame and got on to planning.
One of my aunts has a big party every Christmas, so the first thing I did was to call her and start asking questions. She pretty much has her party down to a science, and I was more than happy to steal her menu, grocery shopping list and ideas. Thanks Aunt M!
Here are the invites I sent out: (courtesy of Shutterfly). If you can read the small print, the invites say "First Annual Christmas Party"....... I'd like this year to be the start of a new tradition for the Mr and I.
For the Menu: Everything is finger food, so no forks are involved. Just cute plates and napkins.
If you're coming, save room for:
Shrimp and assorted sauces
Chicken Nuggets (chick fila)
Spicy Sausage Wontons
Black Bean Salsa
Southwest Cheese Spread
Peppermint Bark Cookies (William Sonoma)
Beer, Wine & Cocktails
For some fun Holiday paper products, I picked up these cups from The PaperHouseOnline.
The Mr and I did a big Costco run last weekend, so the bulk of everything is already bought. Tomorrow after work I'll run by the grocery to pick up the rest of the list. The cleaning ladies are coming tomorrow so that part is covered. Saturday I have a few dips to put together, pick up the nuggets, fluff the Christmas decorations, bust out my sequin outfit and we're ready to roll!
